Alas, im a student now, thrown into the wider world to fend for myself and live the dream of being an Architect…..i shall begin my story with my arrival at the Academy Of Art And Design in Liverpool on a windy September day where we sat in the cavernous studio awaiting to be introduced to our guides through the inferno of our course, they arrived, each an individual and extravagant character eager to see the fresh meat cowering  in the studio……I, nervously sitting there, twiddling the button of my cardigan wondered how to impress, how to dazzle, how to be remembered by these impressive people, for they were impressive, articulate, knowledgeable, everything i deemed myself to be…..in short dear reader i was in awe.

And now as i sit here in my slightly draughty, slightly too small room thinking back to those early days I smile and think what has passed between that September morning and this November evening, the thought, the nights out, the friends and the beautiful people of this city.

In short this was possibly the best decision of my life, a real escape from the drudgery of Wrexham. To this stunning city of so many different people, the quirky shops, the fashionable cafe’s, students mixing with socialites and struggling to separate the two…this is the way to live.

Oh and a note to finish on…i have become fascinated with Andy Warhol…not the art, but the person, so unusual, distant vague and brilliant….maybe its the Art Academy talking but im just obsessed with it all, the Factory Edie and the films…its just all so wonderful don’t you think. well maybye you don’t, but let this be a warning, i will return to discussing, analysing and picking apart Andy over the next couple of month….so…just bear with me it’s probably a passing phase, like my obsession with Grace Jones.

I reached this conclusion after college finished, the exams wound up and responsibility diminished…..the void swelled, pregnant with expectation of the days to come. Within seconds the void collapsed and the summer swept in like a wave collapsing inward in an orgy of ice-cream and golden rays that brushed our pale tired skin. We reveled in the moment………..then silence, the fragile glass sphere containing our world shattered, sending shards cutting through the syrup thick sunshine and pouring out into the harbour of the masses, sweeping aside lesser spheres and spilling their contents, mixing and diluting the waters.

The survivors clung to the wreckage, arms flailing in a desperate attempt to recover the lost splendor, dinner jackets stained with the bloodied waters, feathered dresses limp and sodden……………..screams and shouts echoed through the eternal night and with a crack the world roared back into focus fizzled and became real.

When asked who it was that hefted the hammer and shattered our world, i would often reply that it was tedium our Queen who in her anger at our desertion of her splendid palace seized her golden hammer and threw it across the void towards out beautiful isolated islands of liberation…………..it was her who in the waters came to us in a golden boat, delicate and ethereal gliding across the mirrored waters her ivory hand extended, jewels glinting around her delicate wrist and neck whilst her perfume drifted and saturated the air around our upturned faces…it was her who cracked the void and returned us to her splendid palace.

Tedium may have tricked us into returning into her embrace, but in the end we were better for routine and order to fill the decadent empty hours spent away from the palace, after all, without appreciation and aknowledgement….what proof of life is there….longlive the Queen.

So back to my last post..i deeply regret not going away but that’s just life, you win some and you lose some….i lost big time. Anyways, if you were being observant then i guess you would have an inkling about the content of todays little snipet…thats right its the Fame Monster herself its Lady Gaga (cheers!!!)

I just thought i could break down why we like her so much..well, who doesnt like her videos…i mean Bad romance was inspired and as for Paparazzi, a masterpiece of digital lust. Then there’s the infectious beat that crawls beneath your skin and into your brain..an orginal great voice and above all a sincere nature.

That ladies and gentlemen is why we love GAGA

(in hindsight, it sounds like im some raging screaming fan..im not)

Anyhoo’s back to the real purpose of todays blog and that was to chew over the recent events, it cold, my god its cold…a bitter cold that slices little holes in things, drains away all the heat and snatches the breath from your lips..(i don’t think it’s that cold temp wise but it’s so windy it feels like Siberia)

Pft, i really wanna carry on talking about the whole “come and meet me at the airport” debacle…but im sure you don’t wanna read about that again so perhaps we should move on..to……

Ive always loved skins…it captured the youth of this country bottled it and let us all have a sip, everyone wanted to live the same hedonistic lifestyle where nothing mattered as long as you had your friends.

But in the new series, somethings changed all of a sudden its a much grimmer world where there’s mental illness and a whole lot of unexpected roadblocks…so on that sombre note im departing this keyboard and retreating to watch Glee…yes i know, im a guy who watches Glee..and Ugly Betty..oh and Gossip Girl….ah houston we have a problem.

This morning I logged on to Facebook simply to check my updates and a friend of mine Kieran..(well my best freind…but we have our off periods) So he types

“you know how that holiday of yours has fallen through”

“yeah, I cant believe them!” (btw, the road trip is cancelled for the summer)

“well meet me at Manchester airport tomorrow at 1pm and well get on a plane and just go”

—-at this point I paused, for those of you who don’t know me, which is all of you, me and Kieran have always been very close, helped each other out and given support when it was needed…but we have a very tempestuous relationship, were both very stubborn and wind each other up…but when we have the good days, its amazing to spend time together.

At school people always regarded our relationship with a certain degree of suspicion…for two lads we were (are) very close….they would always say “whats going on with you and Kieran?” well nothing…mores the pity..you see, i did and do like him.

It was all the little things like when we went on trips with school and sat on the coach next to each other..he would doze off on my shoulder and I wouldnt mind..or give me random hugs…or our legs would touch beneath the table at dinner and we didn’t immediately shout “err gerrof me”…it was nice

Anyway, im not going away with him…no yet anyway…would like to though, but I cant spare the time…so much work to do…and uni to prep for..sigh

“just you and me, we’ll disappear together”..thats what he said.

Back to the other part of my title, i watched The Talented Mr Ripley last night for the first time…i wondered, what can Mr Ripley be so good at…is it playing the saxophone, painting, languages, cooking….no, non of the above.

Mr Ripely it turns out  is very good at battering Jude Law with a paddle, playing the piano and impersonations….not the average hobbies but each to his own.

But it’s up there……In september our very close little band of friends will be torn apart by the UCAS monster and sent packing to our respective universities…however the other night i put forward the suggestion the we should do something epic to finish the year off with a bang……

So from there the thing snowballed…..not into anything extravagant…..it will probably end up being camping, which I don’t mind as long as we spend some time together having a laugh before we have to be all serious and adult.

A few problems through, none of us can drive yet (well one of us can, but his girlfriend is really possessive, and a bit of a bitch…..so hes not coming), so we will surrender ourselves to the mercy of the  British Transport System….and hope that we arrive somewhere resembling our destination.

‘ll keep you all posted on whatever we plan to do, with “Breaking News!” if I hype this up like CNN hype everything I might be able to brainwash a nation or two…lol

So time ticks by…christmas is gone ad its time to start afresh ( is “a-fresh” one word or two…never mind) So ive got a new haircut, well half a new haircut, apparently it needs to grow in certain places before it can become the ultimate hairstyle! (wow that sounds exciting)

Anyway, my friend and the ever so charming and intelligent girl from french are still together YAY!!   But ive just had a hellish few weeks of exams BOO!! So once again a year of the good and the bad…oh and Jordans back so make that the ugly as well.

So yeah mixed times…..still constanty on the prowl for new clothes to keep up with the college in crowd…maybye i should just give up, individuality and all that. However,  several new sites have grabbed me round the shoulders and given me a good shaking in the past week, one of them is LOOKBOOK and the other is ASOS, I wont spoil the surprise but its a great tool for getting the drop on the “fashionable people” (it’s what they use to get the freshest looks)……

Oh and by the way, iv just finished Pride and Prejudice and Zombies….im not running a book club or anything, but I think you should read it.

i know that wasnt as profound as all the others but in context it is very funny…

So yeah…then theres the next conundrum….”to card or not to card”.  I dont know about you but here at college i know probably about 100 people…and the biggest question is, do you send a card to everyone including the girl who sits in English, scratches her nose and makes irrelevant coments…or do i go minimal and merely send out to my 20 close friends. I think “in light of the recession” i will have to go minimal this year…….after all, who wants to even consider attempting to produce a carefully crafted individual message in every one of those 100 cards…cetainly not me.

If youve read my earlier blogging escapades then you will probably know that i love christmas…..christmas is te best time of the year….probably because im a bit wierd and actually like the cold weather. Its not just the festive feel in the air…but the decorations, acres of gold leaf coated baubles, sparkling crystal, the smell of pine, spices and all those other luxurious things that make christmas so…..well epic.

Christmas decs going up in the next week, maybe pictures maybye not, ill keep you posted.
